This year I went back to this minimalist set after having some last minute setbacks with my original contest intent set. It uses a single 6C8G tube, which has two triodes in one envelope. The set uses plug in coils, and it tunes from about the middle of the broadcast band to ~17000 kHz. Regen is controlled by a throttle capacitor. I logged less stations this year than in previous years, mostly due to having less time to devote to the contest. I believe I used the same circuit in 2007 and logged 95 stations. Despite its simplicity, this circuit really works well.
